Meet Our 2016 Harney County Fair Queen
My name is Taylor Crafts and I was selected as your 2016 Harney County Fair Queen. I’m 17 years old and was born and raised in Harney County and love everything about it. I will be a senior this coming school year and am very active in sports and high school rodeo.
This past summer, Apache and I had the pleasure of representing Harney County at Sisters, Prineville, Vale, Deschutes County, Chief Joseph Days, John Day, Lakeview and several others. This would not have been possible without our very gracious sponsors, whom I’d like to thank.
They are Ron and Toni Williams with Top Loc, Frenchglen Hotel, Jay Nelson with Suretap Springs, Dr. Val Urick with Flying A Veterinary Services, Duhn Family, Oregon Trail Electric, Herb Vloedman, Dr. Katy Wallace with Sage Country Vet, Kevin Pryce and Angie Ketscher. I would also like to thank the Harney County Fair Board for their support, my Fair Court Advisor Trina Gilmer for everything that she did, Shawn Mace for his generous hay donation, and my parents Roy & Dawn Crafts for hauling my horse and myself all over the State of Oregon and helping me wash and feed Apache, muck stalls, clean tack and carry my water bottles, hairspray and lip gloss everywhere we went all while enduring 100+ degree weather. I could not have had such a successful year without the endless support of my sponsors, family, friends and amazing people of Harney County! Thank you ALL so very much!
I would also like to thank Apache, my 7 year old paint, who did an amazing job for his first year as a Queen’s horse. He was very patient and understanding with me and he loves the attention and enjoys prancing through the parades and showing off in the Grand Entry’s. He and I are extremely proud to represent Harney County and we love our job of going from rodeo to rodeo promoting our little piece of the promise land and our own Harney County Fair, Rodeo and Racemeet that is full of “Bucking Chutes and Dusty Boots”.
Thank you all for giving me this opportunity to represent you and I will forever remember this amazing experience.
Thank you, Taylor Crafts
