Important Dates for 2012 Primary Election
-March 1, 2012- Last day for potential nonaffiliated candidate to register as not a member of a party to meet the 180 day requirement for the General Election.
-March 6, 2012-Last day to file candidacy for nonpartisan or major party office
-March 8, 2012-Last day to file state voters' pamphlet statement
-March 15, 2012- Last day for City elections official, county governing body or district elections authority to give notices of measure elections to county clerk for the Primary Election
-March 31, 2012-Ballots mailed to long-term absent voters (overseas and military)
-April 3, 2012-Seven day reporting begins for campaign finance transactions
-April 16, 2012-Ballots mailed to out-of-state voters
-April 24, 2012-Voter registration deadline
-April 27 - May 1, 2012-Ballots mailed to voters other than long-term absent and out-of-state voters
-May 15, 2012-Election Day
